Timeless Wisdom is intended to highlight wisdom for daily life.
- The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. Ps 19:8
- But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:33
- May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Ps 19:14
- "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
- "But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly country..." Hebrews 11:16
- "If you have raced with footmen and grown weary, how will you compete with horses? If you have stumbled in the land of peace, how will you survive in the thickets of the Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5
- "If you will not believe, you surely will not last." Isaiah 7:9
- Let him who means to love life and see good days, refrain his tongue from from evil and his lips from speaking guile. And let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the L-rd are on the righteous and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the L-rd is against those who do evil. Psalms 3:10-12
- "People who won't read, are no better than people who can't read."
- "Fear not" is the most often repeated imperative in the Bible!
- Satan's greatest lie -- "Tomorrow!"
- G-d will not be defined by man!
- When you study scripture, and see references to "flesh" and "spirit" concerning Christ, understand that flesh refers to Christ sacrifice of his human body as a sin offering. His "spirit" refers to His resurrection and the victorious life everlasting once for all. Never forget that Christ is the victor NOT the victim!
- "For the coming of the Son will be like the days of Noah. For in those days which were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, they were marrying and giving in marriage until Noah entered the ark. Matthew 24. (Translation: you don't know the time of His coming, so be prepared to meet Him.)
- Just as the ark carried Noah and his family away from the waters that drowned the disbelievers, Baptism saves Christians by announcing publicly that the person has placed his/her faith in Jesus Christ. It DOES NOT save us by cleansing us from defilement (either physically or spiritually) Christ's atonement on the cross did that. Rather, it announces that we have made a choice to follow Jesus and to deny the consequences of siding with the world. (clarification of 1Peter 3:21)
